Wineries Around San Diego

Bernardo Winery

In 1889 Bernardo Winery produced its first barrel of wine at the same location and in many of the same buildings it uses today.  Hidden away 20 miles north of San Diego in hilly countryside that was once part of a Spanish land grant, this rustic facility is one of the oldest continuously-operating wineries in Southern California.  On the winery's property east of the Rancho Bernardo Inn, some of the vines have been producing for over 100 years.

Menghini Winery

In 1982 Mike and Toni Menghini bought what used to be an old apple packing shed and turned it into Julian, California's only producing winery. Here you can enjoy sampling premium wines, and in keeping with the true Julian spirit, you can even sample wine made from apples.

Witch Creek Winery

Founded in 1993, Witch Creek Winery is located in Carlsbad, California, in San Diego County.  The winery is named for Witch Creek which runs near a vineyard east of Ramona, also in San Diego County. Before they started the winery, the Wodehouse family bought some of their grapes from that vineyard and the association stuck.

Escondido Wineries

Belle Marie Winery

Belle Marie Winery and Chateau Dragoo are located in North Escondido along Interstate 15.  The facility encompasses a 20,000 gallon winery, corporate and reception venues, educational facilities and a demonstration vineyard with varietals from around the world.

Orfila Winery

Tucked Away in the midst of The San Pasqual Valley, Orfila Vineyards and Winery is a visit to another time and place.  From the moment you begin the drive up the hill through the vineyards, you’ll easily see the “beauty and magic” that has made the winery one of the most memorable places to visit in the San Diego Area.

San Pasqual Winery

Located just 35 miles north from romantic “Old Mexico” in the rolling San Diego County foothills of Southern California, and situated above the picturesque San Pasqual valley, San Pasqual Winery artfully handcrafts small batches of distinctive California wine.

Temecula Wineries

Temecula Valley Winegrower's Association

Just 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles and 60 miles north of San Diego lies Southern California's beautiful wine country - Temecula Valley. Rolling Hills covered with vineyards, expansive views that reach to the highest mountains in four Southern California counties, air swept clean by ocean breezes coming through a gap in the coastal mountains, shopping, antiquing, fine dining, golf, hot air balloon rides and Old Town combine to make Temecula Valley an exciting place to visit for a day or a weekend. Eighteen wineries produce award-winning premium wines made possible by a unique microclimate and well-drained decomposed granite soils.
